Terms and Conditions
In these terms, 'us', ‘we’ and ‘our’ mean Adagio Gift Stores Ltd trading as Adagio London as the retailer and ‘you’ refers to you as the customer. All items purchased from us are subject to the terms & conditions set out here and the additional pages to be found in the Useful Information section of this site. Please ensure you fully read & understand the terms and conditions before ordering from the website. By placing an order with us you are accepting that you agree with the terms & conditions as laid out and are bound by them.
To order goods over the telephone or on our website, you must be at least 18 years of age
When you place an order with us, your order will come through our secure order processing system. Once we have received your order and payment, our staff will pick, pack and dispatch the item(s) ordered. We will aim to do this the same day for all orders received by 1pm on Monday through to Friday. All orders received after 1pm, at the weekend or during bank holidays will be processed the next working day.
All telephone orders will be acknowledged verbally at the time of order, and all orders placed on our website will be acknowledged electronically by e-mail. Please note that verbal and/or electronic acknowledgements do not constitute order confirmation or order acceptance. Your order will be accepted and the creation of a legally binding contract between you and us will take place once the goods have been dispatched or collected. (Alternatively, we may decline all or part of your order for any reason, in which case we will inform you in person, by telephone or e-mail).
When deciding whether or not to accept your order we may use certain information about you, including any received from credit reference agency checks. This helps to protect you and us against fraudulent transactions.
We will tell you if your payment details cannot be authorised for any reason and may invite you to pay by another method.
Every effort is made to ensure that product prices are accurate at all times. We however reserve the right to change our price without notice but any such change(s) will not affect orders that have already been placed. If the price of an item is reduced after an order is placed the difference will not be refunded.
The price shown per item is the total amount to be paid which includes VAT (unless the item is Zero Rated VAT). Please note however that there is an additional charge for UK Special Delivery and delivery to non mainland UK and for international deliveries.
Please ensure when purchasing items that you are aware of the total purchase price. The total amount payable, including delivery charge, will be displayed before you place your order. You are responsible for checking prices at the time the order is placed as prices are subject to change without notice.
Our Card processing partners are Worldpay and Paypal.
Payment in full is required before any item is dispatched. Where a payment has been made by debit or credit card, the card will be debited immediately after the order is accepted. If any item is subsequently cancelled a refund will be credited back to the account from which payment is made ONLY. We will not refund to third party cards.
By purchasing goods using a debit or credit card, you are confirming that the card being used is yours & that you have no objections to us performing any authorisation checks which we deem necessary.
All debit and credit card holders are subject to validation checks and authorisation by the card issuer. If the issuer of your payment card refuses to authorise payment to us, we will not be liable for any delay or non-delivery. In addition, in the interests of preventing fraudulent use of debit and credit cards, we reserve the right to validate
The names, address and other information supplied during the order process against commercially available records (e.g. Electoral Roll data, Credit Reference Services, etc). A third party may also be instructed to complete these checks. By ordering from us you consent to such checks being made.
We may need to contact you by letter, telephone or email to verify details before we are able to process and dispatch your order or we may be unable to accept your order. All information provided to us will be treated in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. These measures are taken as extra protection for you, to ensure your online shopping experience with us is as safe and secure as possible.
All orders received by 1pm Monday to Friday will be dispatched the same day. Orders received after this time, the weekend or on bank holidays will be dispatched the next working day subject to stock availability (please allow extra time during seasonal periods).
Our delivery partners are Royal Mail and DPD. Standard delivery is usually 5 - 7 working days for mainland UK. Deliveries to other destination will vary depending on destination. Estimated delivery timescales will be given at order processing. Next day and faster delivery timescales are available at extra costs. This can be selected during order purchasing. Whilst our delivery partners will endeavour to deliver on stated schedule this cannot always be guaranteed and whilst our delivery partners will work to their best endeavours extra time must be allowed. Delivery will be attempted according to the terms and conditions of the courier. Any subsequent delivery attempts or refusal is the responsibility of the customer and as such all charges incurred by us will be passed on to the customer.
Shop Early To Avoid Delays & Disappointment.
We are a gifts business and at peak trading periods we have extended delivery times due to the level of orders we have. In addition delivery timescales can often be affected by the demand on couriers who have huge calls on their services.
Responsibility & Ownership
The responsibility for the goods transfers to the customer upon delivery, except in cases where the products received are damaged or the incorrect products have been delivered by us. Liability for items which are lost or damaged after delivery will belong solely to the customer. Ownership of the products will pass to the customer on delivery of goods.
From time to time some items on our website may be available as part of promotional lines, offers or in a sale. We may also email or notify customers of promotional lines via email, newsletter or on our website with voucher codes to use against purchase. We reserve the right to modify, alter, discontinue or terminate such promotions at any time for any reason whatsoever without notice.
You can track the progress of your order at any time by logging into My Account from the Home page on this website.
All information provided on the products on this website is intended as a guide only. Dimensions, weights, colours and fragrances are only approximate. If you are ordering goods that are out of stock we will dispatch them when they are received from our supplier.
We have made every effort to accurately represent the products on this website, but errors can occur and we reserve the right to change the details without notice. The product information includes details which we have sourced from third parties and which we make available free of charge. We have taken reasonable care when selecting those third parties, but we have no control over the information itself and we do not accept any responsibility for its accuracy. The pictures of our products are for illustrative purposes only and the items delivered may be different in detail.
Returning Unwanted Items
If your purchase is not wanted or you change your mind feel free to return it for a refund via mail but please ensure:-
- To notify us of your intent to return by email within 14 days of receiving the goods
- To include order number, item details and reason for return on email
- To return the items within 14 days of notification
- To securely package item and return it in its original wrapping, unused and in a re-saleable condition
- You have a proof of posting (in case it is lost)
We charge a restocking fee equivalent to 30% of the cost of the goods purchased.
Your refund will reach your account within (7-10) days of the items being returned but will not include any delivery charges, restocking fee or postage costs.
Faulty or Damaged Items
If your purchase does not reach you in perfect condition or develops a fault. We will be more than happy to replace or refund the item please follow the steps below:
1. Notify us by email and:
- a) Include order number, item details and damage or fault
- b) Return to us within 14 days of receiving the goods
2. Send Photographs of fault or damage by email
3. Await Response from our Team within 7 days
4. Follow instructions given by our team
#. Amongst the instructions, for avoidance of doubt, will include that photographic images of external box(s) and packaging is provided. This is essential and without it no refund or exchange will be made.
5. If a return is required first class postage costs will be paid.

We cannot give refunds in the following cases:
* Personalised items unless faulty, miss-spelt or miss-represented items
* Items returned after 14 days of notification or purchase,
* Damaged items not notified by email to us within 14 days.
This does not affect your statutory rights.
Gift Cards are available for purchase through the website.
At Adagio London we have gift cards available for that special surprise purchase or simply for when you cannot decide what to buy for that special one. The Gift cards are valid for maximum of six months.
At Adagio London, we want to reward customers who make their purchase through our website. Our loyalty scheme is a great and simple way to collect points as you make your purchase with us. Once you sign up for an account with us, every time you shop through our website you earn points
For every £1 spent we reward you with 1 point. With every 200 points collected, you are rewarded with a £5 credit to your account which you can collect as a gift card or as credit towards future purchase.
When you sign up to Adagio London loyalty scheme, you will be given a loyalty card which you keep and we scan each time you make a purchase. Your loyalty card account will also be linked to your online account for your purchases through our website
Points not used during the redeeming process will remain in your account until they have been redeemed or they expire. Loyalty Points have a lifespan of 36 months (3 years) and will expire after this period.

These Terms and Conditions of Sale shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales and you agree to submit to jurisdiction of the English courts. We are required by law to inform you that sales are conducted in English only.
Adagio London is committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use information given when registering for a newsletter with us, at the time of ordering or when making an enquiry necessary and collected lawfully and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. We do not pass your personal information on to third parties. All transactions that you initiate with Adagio London on this website are confidential. Your name will not be added to any third party mailing lists.
The information collected will be used to personally keep in touch and let you know of any offers, sales or promotions that Adagio London are carrying out (if you have selected to receive these emails/newsletters).
Right to request information
You have a right to request a copy of any personal data held by Adagio London at any time, in order to check its accuracy. Changes to this policy
Where duties are required to be paid for international purchase, the customer will be responsible for these payments themselves as applicable in each nation state. Adagio London is not responsible and will not make these payments. Where a customer refuses to make such duty payment(s) when an order has been shipped, this shall not be deemed a reasonable ground to cancel the order and we will not accept it as such and no refund shall be permitted or made under such circumstances.
